State of Georgia May Start Settling Workers’ Compensation Claims …
It appears the State of Georgia has figured out that it is a good idea to settle workers’ compensation claims instead of paying benefits for the 400-week life of a claim. This article only discusses state agencies, but it would be wise for local governments, MARTA, and other governmental entities to also reconsider settlement policies, as many workers’ compensation claims against those entities remain open when it would be beneficial for all parties to resolve the claim.
